Online B2B marketplace, today officially live, connects brands and retailers

Amsterdam, 11 September 2019 - Orderchamp, an online B2B marketplace for retailers, has raised a seed funding round for a kickstart of its platform. Brands and retailers are connected to each other to improve wholesale. Venture Capital firm henQ and ex-founders SEOshop are investing three million euros in the startup, which was set up earlier this year. The marketplace currently hosts more than 300 brands in the areas of home & living, lifestyle, fashion and accessories. Approximately 3,000 stores in the Benelux use the platform on a daily basis to find inspirational brands with unique products for their (online) stores.

The solution that connects brands and retailers

Orderchamp hands modern technology to smaller companies, aiming to provide them with all the benefits that are usually only available to the big players in the retail market. For example, by using machine learning, Orderchamp brings brands in contact with the right retailers. The platform facilitates interaction between both parties: retailers have access to an extensive catalog of unique and high-quality products to distinguish themselves from larger chains. Brands have access to a network of potential new customers in multiple regions. Orderchamp is the modern form of a cash-and-carry or trade-fair.

The B2B world is still very old-fashioned, with representatives and cash-and-carry's. For hip brands - which are often small companies - it is difficult to get in touch with many retailers.

The majority of the Orderchamp team was responsible for the e-commerce platform SEOshop that was acquired by Lightspeed before the company went public (TSX: LSPD).

A change in the B2B market

Ruud Stelder, investor and founder of Orderchamp: “The B2B world is still very old-fashioned, with representatives and cash-and-carry's. For hip brands - which are often small companies - it is difficult to get in touch with many retailers. On the other hand, it is not possible for independent retailers to shop at dozens of trendy brands at the same time, in order to set up a really strong in-store experience. This platform makes it easy for retailers to discover new brands and make collective purchases with multiple brands. It is a strong concept that will facilitate a change in the B2B market. ”

Joost Brugmans, CEO and co-founder of Orderchamp: “The fact that we have received a substantial seed investment in less than eight months means that we are off to a flying start with our platform. Our goal is that brands and retailers from all over the world can do business with each other. In addition to product sourcing, Orderchamp removes administrative hurdles and also takes care of the marketing for brands. All this to realize our vision: unique merchandise in every store. ”

Coen van Duiven, founder of themQ: “The fact that we are investing in the same team for the second time underlines our confidence and the strength of this team. With the extremely strong focus that we know from them, Orderchamp will conquer a large market. We are happy to give a kickstart to such an organization. "
